| Hawaii insurance company focuses $150k donations on education, health and social services, and economic development |

The First Insurance Company of Hawaii Charitable Foundation has donated more than $150,000 to nonprofits that focus on education, health and social services, and economic development.
The foundation has given funds to 38 nonprofits such as the University of Hawaii Foundation, American Red Cross, American Diabetes Association, Honolulu Museum of Art and Sustain Hawaii.
“We are proud to support our local nonprofit organizations and do what we can to help strengthen Hawaii for future generations,” said Allen Uyeda, FICOH CEO, who is retiring at the end of July.
The foundation is owned by First Insurance Company of Hawaii, which is the oldest property and casualty insurer in Hawaii with assets of $644.1 million, liabilities of $352.7 million, and policyholders’ surplus of $291.4 million. |
